Benton County Conservation Toddler Time: Mama's & Babies April 7
Toddler Time: Mama’s & BabiesApril 7th, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Benton County Nature CenterCome on out to the Nature Center to learn about Iowa animals! This program will include a book and puppets. Vinton Fire Department Fish Fry Fundraiser tonight 4-7 p.m.
The Vinton Fire Department Fish Fry Fundraiser will be held tonight 4-7 p.m. at the fire station. A freewill donation will be accepted for this event. These events help to cover equipment and protective gear for our firemen. These expenses run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to keep our departments operating. Let the guys do the cooking after a long work-week.
Benton County Extention Open House & Information Fair April 20
There will be an Open House and Information Fair on April 20, from 4:30-6:30 p,m. in recognition of Benton County Extension and Outreach Week is April 17-22. Join us at the Benton County Fairgrounds to learn more about how Benton County ISUEO, our county partners and local organizations are helping in our community with services and resources available to you.
It's a Masquerade Ball May 19
On May 19th there will be a Masquerade Ball held at the American Legion located at 105 North R Ave. in Vinton. This is an adult prom for anyone over the age of 21. The Ball begins at 8:00 p.m. and goes until 12:00 a.m.The event is sponsored by Sweet Sounds Karaoke, Ron-Da-Voo and Wacha Racing.Tickets are available for $5 each if you get them now, or it is $8 at the door.
AMERICAN LUTHERAN CHURCH INVITES FAMILIES TO RISE UP WITH JESUS!
American Lutheran Church will host a Rise Up With Jesus Easter event for families Wednesday evening, April 5. During this 1-1/2 hour interactive program, kids and grown-ups alike will experience loads of memorable Easter fun and excitement—all while they discover the true events surrounding Jesus’ death and resurrection. Families will explore the wonderful “puzzle” of Easter at each station through challenging games, unique experiences, and fun gizmos designed to remind families that Jesus is alive!Rise Up With Jesus is a free event that takes place from 6 pm to 7:30 pm on April 5 and includes a potluck style meal.

VSHS Wrestling Cheer Squad seeking yards to Egg
The VSHS Wrestling Cheer Squad had a great season this year supporting both the boys and girls wrestling teams. Even though our cheering season is over, we're continuing to raise funds to update our uniforms and purchase practice mats for next season. This Easter we're egging family, friends, and neighbors' yards! Order pre-filled eggs to be hidden in your yard along with a special note from the Easter Bunny.
